Dongguan

Martin Duplantier

Conceived as an elevated urban parking facility in the dense commercial fabric of Dongguan, China, the project seeks to transform a purely infrastructural program into a visible and integrated piece of city architecture. The building is organized through open, horizontal parking decks that allow natural ventilation, daylight penetration, and clear visual continuity with the surrounding streetscape. Its curved façade lines soften the scale of the structure, creating a dynamic frontage that responds to the movement of cars and pedestrians below. Rather than hiding the parking function, the design expresses it with clarity, efficiency, and urban presence, contributing to the vitality of the area while offering a practical solution to the growing mobility demands of the city.
